David Matches The Match |
| 20 Dec 2011 - 16 January 2012 |
| The Match – a photographic exhibition by David Matches.
This exhibition is toured by NZ Portrait Gallery – Wellington and consists of 100 life-size images taken over a 5 year period, of rugby players immediately after they have finished a game and escaped to the changing rooms to scour off the layers of mud, blood and dirt.
The expressions are those of players who have had the elation of winning or dealing with losses.
David Matches travelled throughout New Zealand capturing these players up against the changing room walls with a white backdrop.
There are several nationally noted players including Dan Carter and also a few locals among them.
The gallery walls will be entirely covered with these images and will create an awesome impact on viewers.

TRUSTTUM & TATATM Pieces and parts |
| Opening 21 May - 20 June 2010 |
| This selection of Philip Trusttum’s paintings are ‘bits and pieces’ gathered from the large volume of work he has made over the past 25 years. The Percy Thomson Gallery, Stratford is showing a selection of intriguing objects from the Taranaki Transport Aviation and Technology Museum’s collection and Trusttum’s work that will occupy the walls of the exhibiting space. Works that reflect in a loose way practical themes of transport, wheels and boys things have been gathered for this unusual partnering within the Gallery. This small selection from Trusttum’s prodigious achievement to date provides some small insight into his great creative compositional genius and his ability to work directly with the everyday tasks and pleasures of life.
It is this same focus on the day to day and the material evidence that is generated by humanity that has driven the many dedicated volunteers that have gathered and cared for this important Taranaki museum’s collection.

Form & Fibre / Recollections |
| 12 Sept - 2 Oct |
| A joint exhibition of pottery and embroidery will be staged at the Percy Thompson Gallery from 12th September to the 2nd October 2008. This exhibition will show a wealth of talent in these two crafts which complement each other in their diversity and in the ability of the artists involved. Three groups, The NP Potters Inc, The Waikato Society of Potters, and The NP Embroiderers' Guild, have combined to provide this feast of visual and textural delights. Members of the Embroiderers' Guild will be on hand on weekends during the exhibition to explain the details of their creations.
Running concurrently in the Community Gallery:
Recollection – multi media decoupage by Joan & Dick Wills.
The exhibition will include decoupage boxes of varying sizes, decorated pre 1914 shoe lasts, iconic triptychs with Byzantine themes and some acrylic paintings an extension of our work, some as decoupage and acrylic background.
Over the years we have exhibited occasionally since 1997, developing a unique type of art with an emphasis on finish, particularly our boxes.. Joan’s expertise has produced some of our best work through an accumulated knowledge of adhesives, shellacs and varnishes.
With a surgeon like approach of a scalpel, she has compiled an amazing library of ready material over the years for our projects.
Some items taking months to complete have found their way into homes throughout NZ and overseas at times passing on to other family members as heirlooms.
We are forever searching out new ideas and methods and with a liking for strong colours have moved towards acrylics and oil pastels inspired by the great artists of old.
